Had an appointment with Dr. Shield. Very attentive, wasn't rushed, answered all of my questions. The tech who took my info before the MD came in was nice. Nice front office staff, too.
I cannot recommend Dr Shatz and his team highly enough. Courteous, efficient, professional, and empathetic - the whole team was patient with me throughout the process; and on the day of my LASIK surgery, they went above and beyond to manage and mitigate the stress inherent in any medical procedure. They took their time to explain the process, were efficient during the procedure, and, most importantly, have a comforting bed-side manner. They know what they’re doing; and the manner in which they comport themselves engenders trust. AND I now have 20/20 vision!
I continue to be so impressed by Dr. Shatz's program. He and his team work together for a great patient experience - they are a "well oiled" machine. They anticipated all of my needs and were easy to communicate with. He has thought of everything. They were very accommodating and they were ready to answer all of my questions.

I never thought I'd have eye surgery, then I got diagnosed with cataracts. Even after learning that it's a commonly performed minor procedure with a very high success rate, I was still a little apprehensive. As it turned out, I had a very positive experience. All the nurses at the surgery center were fantastic and I felt well taken care of. Dr. Shatz is a skilled and efficient surgeon, and the procedure itself was quick and virtually painless. I can now see better than I have in probably my whole life. For me, cataract surgery has been an amazing life-changing experience.
Five years ago I was informed that I had cataracts on both eyes, treated nearly 20 years earlier with Lasik in NY. At that time and subsequently, I was told that any cataract surgery would need to be performed in either Boston or New York since I no longer had a "normal eye." I am so grateful to have found Dr. Shatz who not only stated that he had done such surgery but then did so several days ago on my right eye with excellent results. I had a few hours of minimal discomfort and that very day could use the computer without reading glasses. Happily, I am able to use an e-reader without glasses and more importantly now see the world sharply and in vivid color.
