Great chowder in a comfortable cafe setting. Only $1 more for popovers. Decent prices and pleasant staff.
Bugs !!!! Never eat at this place. We just finally tried this restaurant for the first time after always driving by. We ordered soup and a popover. My husband says your probably not going to like the popover. As he takes his second bite he looks down and there are maggots crawling inside. This disgusting and unbelievable. I will be calling the board of health
Had the chili it was a little spicy and not a lot of flavor, the atmosphere was very laid back the tables were dirty not my cup of tea
Only drawback is they close by 6 and usually shut off their grill for sandwiches a while before that. They probably do great business for lunch, but since it's one of my favorite eats in Northampton, I'd like the option to order their food for dinner takeout. Usually I can get there before 6 if I really want to order soup or popovers for dinner but the grill is never on at this point in the day for grilled cheese, etc. Sort of a bummer but it's not worth taking points off from them.
Went in at nearly lunchtime, only to find no chowders even cooked for the day and would not be ready for at least another half hour. Handicapped accessibility also lousy.
The soups and popovers are delicious, service is always very friendly. Some of the best clam chowder I've had. For those reasons, they get five stars!
