It's a small joint with limited seating like anything on Main St. and fills up fast at popular hours. More comfortable and accomadating than some other places in the area, however. It has a robust cafe with coffee, desserts, and beer, but I've yet to hang around long enough to indulge. That will change soon, though. Very friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. Check it out!
My first visit. I debated between 2&3 stars but decided to give the benefit of the doubt . Pizza is OK, possibly a bit better than average -- however, not at all impressed with service. I asked for my slice to go. The open take-out box was beside the pizza oven... when a staff member behind the pizza oven leaned over the area and her long hair fell into my take-out box (pizza was still heating). I should have asked for a new box, but I just wanted to leave. Most likely will not return. There are better options in Noho.
Sam's Pizza has a great atmosphere. The open mike jams on the second and 4th Thursday feature local talents as feature acts.
You have a couple of options for pizza in downtown, and everyone has a different suggestion, but this one is my favorite. The crispy crust of their pizza is awesome, and the toppings all have a premium taste. You can eat pizza by the slice, but I recommend ordering/taking out a whole pie if you're looking for more bang for your buck. Lots of great gourmet flavors, the buffalo chicken is some of the best I've had, but their more standard fare is also definitely worth trying. Pricier than some other options, but you can tell the price goes into quality of ingredients. Definitely worth it.

Every Friday night open mike starting at 8 you never know who will be there and the talented musicians playing there are a welcoming inclusive group of people. The owner Sam is a friendly guy. All the help at Sam's work hard to please the customers. The pizza is good but their best item is the famous brownies !
The pizza is good here and normally the service is too. Tonight the waitstaff seemed overwhelmed, which is fine - I get it. But they were rude and constantly asking for tips. It was a stressful experience, which a pizza slice shouldn't be and I gave 20% tip when I ordered. Most troubling was that two guys had ordered a bottle of water and when they tried to retrieve it they were made to seem like they'd made it up. I stepped in as a witness and they received their water, but I think it speaks to the caliber of customer service, at least on this Oct. 28-29 night. I will come here again because there are few options at this hour but if employees expect a tip they should also expect to offer a reasonable level of decorum.
