I've been going to Rosa at Glamourama since I moved to Western MA from Boston five years ago, and I've *never* left the salon unhappy. Not only is the staff friendly (including Bennie!), but Rosa knows just how to handle my curly hair, and she’s been a trustworthy sounding board as my style has evolved. Just last week, a woman in a hotel elevator in Philadelphia stopped me to say that she loved my haircut (she called it "perfect"!).
I got a much needed haircut today from Rosa and I have to say that it is one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten. I let her do whatever she wanted and it turns out that was a great decision. I love, love, love it and so has everyone who has seen my new do. What's more, the hour that I spent in her chair was super relaxing and enjoyable.
A fun, funky environment, very different than a typical salon. Excellent hair cuts...stylist takes her time to make sure everything is perfect. Never waited for my appointment and never felt that the stylist was rushed. Love going here and love my cut(s).
I've been going to Shalane for several years and she, by far, is the best stylist at color/highlights and cutting that I've ever been to!! She took a lot of time initially to get the color I wanted and now the formula is set. She also spends a lot of time and energy getting the right cut. I'll never go anywhere else!!
Rosa is also the person who discovered that I had alopecia a few years ago (which has thankfully resolved itself) and I will never forget her gentleness in alerting me to the bald spots I didn't know I had, and the time she took during my appointment to help me research the condition as I sat in her chair trying not to cry. I look forward to my haircuts, for the time in the salon and for how good I feel when I leave.
The worst experience of my life. Had been going to the salon for about 6-8 months for haircuts so I trusted my stylist. I wanted to make sort of a drastic change with my hair and was really nervous about it. I was ASSURED it would be fine. $250 later my healthy shoulder length hair is 5 different shades of ugly. Looked like a home bleach job from the 80's. My hair was also SO SO SO damaged. I had said from the beginning that the only thing I fid not want was to be blonde and that's the closest to what my hair could be called. I tried to speak with the owner. She was unprofessional, rude, disrespectful. She actually blamed me along with claiming that there was nothing wrong. Additionally, when I called the salon to set up a time to speak with her the next day, later that night she began texting me asking who I was and wanting to resolve it by text. WHAT??!! How can she see or feel my hair? She ended up refunding a whole $50, which was spent in the first visit to another salon. I was told there that my hair was completely damaged, beyond fixing. She attempted putting color back in and it didn't take in half my hair. A few weeks later she did it again. I am grateful to this stylist because I was SO unhappy and uncomfortable. Now my dead hair is crumbling away. I've tried EVERY conditioning product that you can think of. I would give this salon 0 stars if I could . Owner is unprofessional and rude. I understand mistakes happen, but then to treat me horribly on top of it? Horrible horrible experience.
